Darren Rowse at Pro Blogger lists 34 reasons why people unsubscribe from a blog’s RSS feed. It’s not very scientific but quite a few of the reasons ring true and you could do worse than read and ponder them and ask yourself some searching questions.

Interesting post from Jeff Jarvis which says that Google is on track to become Britain’s largest advertising company. Google’s revenue was over £800m last year, overtaking Channel 4’s £775m. It is catching up fast with the top ad revenue earner ITV which was on £1.63bn last year.

John Battelle points to the latest figures from the IAB and PriceWaterhouseCoopers which show that online display continues to rise sharply and that in the final quarter of 2006 it reached $4,8bn in the US, an all-time record and nearly a third up on the same period a year earlier.

There has been much speculation about how the future will pan out now Google Video and YouTube are under common ownership. May there is a clue in the latest post in the Google Video blog – which bids farewell and points readers either online to the two video sites, or to the YouTube blog.
The Guardian carries the news that the BBC is to launch three new branded channels on YouTube following a multi-year deal.
Jeff Jarvis points to a mock up of a new design for usatoday.com which apparently has taken 50 people five months to develop. It’s much more Web 2.0 with comment and voting built in.
